Welcome to the world of dance, song, and music...

     Have any of you heard the saying "Whenever I am late, someone somewhere has to wait"?  My dad says that to me all the time... Don't be like me! I am late, so now I have to apologize to you (it's a humbling experience.)  I'm sorry you had to wait!  I apologize profusely and I hope you will forgive me. :)...

     That being said, Hi!!!! I'm Thaleia, your muse of music, song and dance. My favorite kind of music is a-capella (or acapella; I've see it spelled both ways-oh, by the way I'm not a grammar Nazi  so please correct me! I won't get mad. :)) My favorite kind of song is the kind with a little bit of beat or swing.  I also like songs that have been changed from their original lyrics into a smart medley or that completely make fun of the original song (I'm horrible aren't I?) My favorite kind of dance is any kind of dance: tap, jazz, modern, ballet, etc. you name it, I'll probably like it!

Erato's Welcome

Welcome to our fantastic blog!

      We are starting this as a New Years resolution between the four of us. It should be a stretching and growing experience for all of us! We hope that you'll enjoy our ramblings and opinions on a variety of things. Well, I've been told to begin by explaining my name. I'm Erato - which, according to Wikipedia means love or lyric poetry. I'm personally not so keen on the love part, but that's part of the domain. In a hymn to the muses, Erato was told to be the one that charmed the sight. That part is also non-applicable. As Clio mentioned, we aren't believers in Greek mythology, rather we are firm believers in Christ. Hopefully, you will be able to see that reflected in our writing and thoughts. 

Meet Calliope

Welcome to our blog!

    My chosen muse is Calliope, the muse of epic poetry, also known as the muse of eloquence, whose name means “Beautiful Voice.”  She is the eldest and chief of the muses, and was also said to be the wisest.  I am not particularly eloquent, and I do not claim to have a beautiful voice or to be wiser than my friends, but I somehow seem to have more similarities with her than I do with the other muses.  She was said to have been the mother of several, some of whom changed the musical realm.  She was also thought to have inspired Homer to write his Illiad and The Odyssey. (You’re welcome for that!)

Hello one and all!

Welcome to The Muses! We have four authors and administrators, each of us a Greek muse. I will give a bit of background!
Greek muses are the goddesses of literature, science and the arts. For the record, I do not believe in Greek mythology, but their myths and legends are very fascinating. There are many, many different muses, but there are nine most mentioned and referred to, called the classical muses. Each of us has chosen our names, and "personalities" from these nine.
